I have confidence

So I am now at home, having cycled to meet my husband for dinner and then cycled home.

I feel pretty great!

I do have a bit of a bruised shin though, but it's only a beginners "going over a speed bump while there is a car right up behind me and so 1 foot fell off the pedal and the other pedal flew into my shin" moment.

I must do some reading into how to manage speed bumps.

Reactions

Me:  I rode to work today and I didn't die!
Boss: Yet.  You rode to work today and you didn't die, yet.
Me: What?

Maybe he knows something I don't..

Strava

Husband: Did you strava your ride?
Me: NO!! I was too nervous!! HAHA
Husband: Strava or it never happened.
Me: :(

Strava is like facebook for cyclists - sort of like those fitness gps apps like RunKeeper.
It is based on segments (combinations of streets / paths) and shows your stats against the stats of your friends and everyone else on Strava.

I currently use the Android app on my Samsung S4, but my husband plugs his Garmin bike computer (the gps is a bit more accurate) into his computer after each ride.

I must try and remember to Strava it tomorrow.

Also, I might try and leave the house a little later.  Getting to work at 8am and working an extra hour was sub-optimal.

I must go charge my batteries now.. of my bike lights.. teeheehee... :)
